I asked them how to do a search or even to see the entire catalog, here is their response:
You may search the archive by going to http://catalog.nypl.org/ search/X, inputting a search term (or simply an asterisk, if you wish to see the entire archive in reverse chronological order), and selecting "Performing Arts Research TOFT (Theatre on Film and Tape)" in the Location drop-down menu.
If you do make a reservation, they will ask you why you want to view your chosen tape. I suggest you tell them "research."
