Hola amigos, I'm finally back with the second installment of the update on how my cheaper than cheap kitchen makeover is holding up six months down the line (you can find the first installment here) Woo-fricking-hoo!!!!

I have two small children and therefore no social life. I am easily excited.

Guys. It's time. 

The other day somebody asked me how my kitchen tiles were holding up and I realised that somewhere in between picking food off the carpet, playing mind-numbingly endless games of "dollies" and answering innumerable questions about such diverse topics as "why isn't there a toy library?" and "how do babies get out of your belly?", more than six freaking months had passed without me noticing!!!

So, it's definitely time for an update. As you might remember, back in August we finally bit the bullet and painted our ugly kitchen floor tiles. (You can read the original post here). 

We didn't have the money to replace them and I had spent months reading blog posts that told me it could be done so we thought "what do we have to lose?!" and went for it.....

playroom plans

I'm not on my own in feeling like it's been January for about three months now right? Will it NEVER get to the end of the month?! So many things I want to do around here, so little money to do them with. I'm feeling all:

Thankfully there really is something in the saying "neccessity is the mother of invention" and I'm almost finished my super cheap (read:totally free cos I only used stuff I already had) downstairs loo makeover so I'll be sharing that as soon as I can get some decent photos!

In the meantime I've been planning out what I want to do in the playroom...cos planning is all I can afford right now!

sharing a little inspiration

It would seem that this year, being the first I have had when I have been in possession of both an actual house that I actually own and two children who are, miraculously, *whispers for fear they will hear me and stop* ....entertaining EACH OTHER and leaving me the HELL ALONE for up to half an hour at a time, the urge to decorate has come back with full force!

And by full force, I mean that my husband keeps finding me standing in rooms that are yet to be done, staring into space and muttering about storage.
